Scott Daeley named Assistant Baseball Coach

He played and coached at Wake Forest before joining Stricklin's staff at Kent State. From his Kent St bio: "During Daeley’s time as recruiting coordinator the Flashes have brought in classes that have excelled both on the field and in the classroom. The 2006 class was ranked by Baseball America as the #17 class in the country becoming the first Mid-American Conference school to be included in their recruiting Top 25. After the 2012 season that saw the Flashes reach the College World Series, Baseball America went back and re-ranked the recruiting classes from 2008 and ranked the Flashes as having the 9th best class. 31 Flashes have been selected in the MLB Draft since 2005 including 21 in the last 4 seasons." "As hitting coach, Daeley has overseen 26 All-MAC position players, three MAC Players of the Year and six All-Americans. In conference play, Kent State hitters have finished in the top three in the MAC in batting average, runs and on base percentage for the past seven-straight years and finished in the top three in slugging and fielding percentage six of the last seven seasons. The Flashes have led the league in home runs four times and taken home the batting average and runs scored crown on three occasions. In 2009, the Flashes set a single season MAC record for runs scored during a season when they crossed the plate 504 times. The 2012 Kent State offense lead the country in doubles and finished 3rd with 729 hits."

I must admit, I had forgotten he was even a Dawg until after it was over and I walked right by him and saw the Sea Island logo on his sleeve and then it dawned on me.
