High level sources in multiple conferences have told KCTV5 that Texas and Texas A&M are looking to move to the Big Ten Conference and have petitioned for membership, while the University of Oklahoma is planning on petitioning the Southeastern Conference to become a member of its conference.

Thanks to Dawg Sports commenters for pointing me to this news straight out of left field. What . . . the . . . Hell . . . ?!?! Go 'Dawgs!

This may be the finest example of a blogger writing a humorous song to deal with his pain since . . . well, you know. Go 'Dawgs!

Six schools being invited by Pac-10 - TX, A&M, Tech, OU, Ok State and Colo - expected to accept invitations, begin play in Pac-16 in 2012.

Chip Brown breaks the latest news, while Fox Sports reports that Nebraska will accept an invitation to join the Big Ten. My aforementioned posting---which has already been written and is set to appear shortly after midnight---may already be out of date, but my point still stands, so we'll forge ahead. Go 'Dawgs!

Baylor's addition to the Pac-10 being met with resistance by Cal-Berkeley bec of Baylor's religious ties.

Chip Brown on Twitter. I hate to say I told you so, but . . . I told you so! I owe a hat tip to Team Speed Kills for the above link, as well as for offering some thoughts about conference expansion upon which I intend to expound in a posting that will appear here shortly after midnight tonight. Go 'Dawgs!

Yeah... that 50% chance I mentioned that nothing at all was going to happen re: expansion?

She may kill you, but you won't die hungry. Paula Deen. The Patron Saint of Butter. Have you ever watched her cook? She puts butter in everything. She puts butter in butter. I watched her make a pear cobbler the other day and I gained 13 pounds just watching. She's my hero.

Nick Marshall gives UGA his verbal commitment to CMR and CMF

Athlete Nick Marshall of Wilcox County (Rochelle, Ga.) has announced plans to play both football and basketball for Georgia in the Class of 2011. The 6-foot-2, 185-pound prospect was also offered by Alabama, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Arkansas, Clemson, Tennessee and Vanderbilt. He was once a silent commitment to the Yellow Jackets. A quarterback in high school, Marshall is rated three-stars and No. 31 nationally by ESPNU, but will play defensive back for the Bulldogs. He is considered No. 34 at shooting guard in basketball. The Bulldogs now have 11 commitments. Wow. Honestly i didn't really expect him to commit to the dawgs after LeMay committed but i guess that may not be why he's comming to the classic city canines. Marshall is also an explosive athlete on the Basketball court and WILL play for the hard-court dawgs as well.

Would Georgia lawmakers step in and fight for Georgia Tech’s athletic future?

What this means for the Diamond Dogs is that Roger Williams's offseason has now begun, but Derek Johnson will remain unavailable for at least one more round. You know, just in case David Perno has a call he'd like to make. No. 1 regional seeds Coastal Carolina and Virginia both advanced, as well, to face fellow No. 1 regional seeds in the super regionals, by the way. Go 'Dawgs!
