Friday Morning ‘Dawg Bites

Chicken for lunch tomorrow? Why, yes please!

University of South Carolina vs University of Georgia
Brock Bowers went wild against ‘Carolina last year. Do it again.

You’ve made it to another Friday, so if you’ve made it this far perhaps you can get to the 5:00 finish line. I know: work has been a grind, the weather is still too hot and you probably have sleep debt. Fear not, intrepid Dawg fan! Tomorrow’s game isn’t a late-breakfast noontime affair, which means if you’re going you don’t have to leave at the crack of dawn to get to the stadium on time. In my opinion, the 3:30 start time is the best time. Some folks like the 5:00 o’clock slot; others the 7:00 kickoff. What say you?

Why, yes please...

There’s been a lot of teeth gnashing regarding the performance of our offensive line through the first two games. We know what we have and I’m confident that when the competition ramps up, they will too. Here’s a piece from 247 Sports on young Jared Wilson who is impressing the coaches and players alike.

South Carolina’s Shane Beamer is very appreciative of his time spent on the Georgia staff, learning from Kirby Smart. Although he does things his own way, he tries to mirror Kirby’s openness to change. Oh, you just know that beating Georgia in Athens is a bucket list thing for Shane & Co.

Former Georgia Bulldog and Philadelphia native D’Andre Swift had himself a heckuva game last night as the PhillyDawgs took care of business.

Swift had 175 yards and a touchdown on 28 carries. The kid was underutilized during time in Detroit (in my opinion) and got better the more he got the ball, but 28 carries? That’s a lot of heavy lifting in the NFL,

So, back to 2019 for a moment...Georgia’s last home loss was that lackluster performance against the Gamecocks. Despite playing like a team that didn’t want to be there with an offensive coordinator that should’ve never been there in the first place, we should’ve pulled it out in the end. Kirby & Co. has come a long, long way since then. Any worries out there? I, for one, am thrilled that this game is a 3:30 start. Hope the crowd is loud.

That’ all I’ve got. See you Sunday with a few thoughts...

Go Dawgs!
