Around the SEC is 24-0

NCAA Football: Georgia at Tennessee Randy Sartin-USA TODAY Sports

Undefeated and 8-0. 24-0 the past three seasons. No team has ever gone three straight years in the SEC without a conference loss. Congrats, Dawg fans. If you remember the Ray Goff years. If you remember Spurrier regularly beating us up. If you remember Urban Meyer calling late timeouts, the Prayer at Jordan-Hare, the Tennessee Hail Mary, soak it in. Even if you are a newer Dawgs fan and have only experienced this golden era, still enjoy it! With the conference expanding to 16 teams, it is even more unlikely a team will achieve this again.

As we head into some Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate, let’s check-in around the league.

Here’s what’s happening around the SEC.

  • Florida quarterback Graham Mertz sustained a nondisplaced fractured collarbone in the Gators’ heartbreaking loss to Missouri. Florida will turn to redshirt freshman Max Brown to take the snaps under center against Florida State.
  • Arkansas AD Hunter Yuracheck confirmed that head coach Sam Pittman would be returning to Fayetteville ins 2024. This season hasn’t turned out how the Hogs had hoped, but Pittman is still an excellent coach and a great culture fit for the Razorbacks.
  • As Texas A&M continues to look for a new head coach, AD Ross Bjork has stated “The expectation is we should be competing for a national championship.” If that’s the expectation, then whoever is next is setup to fail in College Station. Getting back to 10 wins should be the starting point, something the Aggies have done twice in the past 20 seasons.

GO DAWGS!!!
