What Was Dan Lanning Thinking?

If you’ve watched enough college football on television you know that there usually comes a point late in the game when the camera pans to the losing coach. He’s standing there, stoic and wordless, and you wonder “what is that guy thinking right now?”

Saturday’s 49-3 Bulldog victory over the Oregon Ducks provided just such a moment.

I ask you: In this precise moment, what was Dan Lanning thinking?

a) “Yeah. This is pretty much exactly what I was afraid of.”

b) “I think the guys are gonna believe me now.”

c) “Maybe Bo Nix hasn’t improved that much under this new offense. Maybe he isn’t focused. Maybe he isn’t having fun and, if I’m being perfectly honest, perhaps he isn’t a dark horse Heisman candidate.”

d) “It looks like more fun over there. But the paycheck over here is pretty nice.”

Think you know what was going on in the mind of Dan Lanning here? Tell us in the comments.
