Cocktail Thursday: Kent State Edition

old fashioned

If you’re a Georgia Bulldog fan and you have a semi-irrational fear of public research universities with satellite campuses across Ohio from Ashtabula to East Liverpool, you could perhaps use a drink. I can help with that.

I’m not going to pretend that I’m seriously worried about losing to the Kent State Golden Flashes. But I am a little worried about the Golden Flashes putting up a fight. And about the Bulldogs playing with their dinner a little. Sean Lewis’s team will be facing their third top twenty team in four weeks after opening with #18 Washington and going on the road to #6 Oklahoma.

Kirby Smart wasn’t entirely pleased with his team’s response to getting out to a big lead on Samford two weeks ago. He said that he felt like they showed a lack of maturity by losing focus in the second half. This game looks like a good chance to find out if the Red and Black have found that mental edge. The killer instinct. I don’t want to see any sloppiness. But I will be sipping a Sloppy Joe. You’ll need:

*3 ounces of white rum

* 8 ounces of hard apple cider

* 2 oz. fresh lime juice

Pour all the ingredients over ice, stir, then pour into a Collins glass and enjoy.

Go ‘Dawgs!!!
