The NFL season got underway last weekend, and it wasn’t hard to find some former Dawgs in on the action.

The Eagles won a back-and-forth matchup with the Lions with Jordan Davis having two tackles. The Lions lost despite D’Andre Swift’s 144 rushing yards and three touchdowns, the first Lion to go past 100 yards in a season opener since Barry Sanders in 1996.

Remember when there was actual debate about if Travon Walker was the better pick for No. 1 overall compared to Michigan’s Aidan Hutchinson? Travon Walker put that debate to rest on Sunday in the Jaguars 28-22 loss to the Commanders as he had three tackles and an interception. Tyson Campbell also had an interception for the Jags.

Helped by Nick Chubb’s 141 rushing yards, the Browns got by the Panthers 26-24.

The Bills took a 31-10 win against the Rams last Thursday with James Cook debuting with a two-yard carry and Isaiah McKenzie had a seven-yard TD catch with a unique celebration.

Leonard Floyd had three tackles and recovered a fumble for the Rams, who also got 24 passing yards from Matthew Stafford.

John Jenkins was on the winning side for the Dolphins, as he had one tackle in their 20-7 win against the Patriots whose offensive line saw David Andrews and Isaiah Wynn on the field for every offensive snap.

Justin Houston had three tackles and a sack in the Ravens 24-9 win against the Jets.

On a wet and soggy day in Chicago, Roquan Smith’s nine tackles led the Bears to a 19-10 win against the Niners.

George Pickens had a catch for three yards in the Steelers 23-20 OT win over the Bengals.

Not only did Tae Crowder lead the Giants with seven tackles, but his big hit on Derrick Henry got him on the highlight reel. The Giants also had Andrew Thomas starting at right tackle with Ben Jones lined up at center for the Titans.

In the Packers 23-7 loss to the Vikings, three Dawgs made plays defensively. Eric Stokes had four tackles, Quay Walker had eight and Devonte Wyatt notched one.

Mecole Hardman got into the end zone, catching a touchdown in the Chiefs 44-21 win against Arizona, who got 13 receiving yards from AJ Green.

Sony Michel had seven carries for 12 yards for the Chargers in their 24-19 win against the Raiders, who got three catches for 24 yards from Tre McKitty.

Jake Camarda has a successful debut for Tampa Bay, averaging 50.7 yards per punt.

Rodrigo Blankenship converted a pair of field goals in the Colts 20-20 tie against the Texans.

Lorenzo Carter had a pair of tackles in the Falcons 27-26 loss to the Saints.
