Home football games are always an opportunity for Kirby Smart and his staff to showcase their program to recruits. But the chance to see the ‘Dawgs take on a top ten Arkansas team appears to be bringing a true avalanche of blue chip prospects to town this weekend. Below is a partial list of prospects expected to be in Athens on Saturday.

2022 prospects

Bear Alexander. The five star former UGA Commit will return to Athens for the second time already this season. Georgia still likely has work to do to wrest him away from the home state Texas A&M Aggies. But the more time he spends in Athens the better the odds. I’m a big fan of following the visits if you want to know where a player is truly leaning.

Aliou Bah. Huge three star offensive lineman is currently committed to FSU, but is scheduled to visit Georgia this weekend and Florida next.

Deyon “Smoke” Bouie. Another former Bulldog commit now pledged to the Aggies, the Bainbridge five star wont get away from former Bearcat Kirby Smart without a fight.

Julian Humphrey. The four star cornerback prospect out of Houston has been committed to Florida since May, but would be a nice addition to UGA’s class if he has a change of heart.

Carlton Madden (Commit). The fast-rising edge rusher from Cedar Grove returns to Athens, now as a firm public commitment.

DeNylon Morrisette (Commit). The four star receiver has emerged as a leader in the 2022 class and seems to be in Sanford Stadium recruiting every time they open the gates.

Griffin Scroggs (Commit). The big interior lineman from nearby Grayson is another return visitor.

Shemar Stewart. One of the top ten prospects in the country, the Opa Locka, Florida defensive lineman will take in Athens for the first time this season. All told three of the top six defensive linemen in 247Sports’ 2022 rankings will be in town.

Jalon Walker (Commit). The nation’s #4 linebacker prospect will return to Athens again to help recruit fellows for the Bulldogs’ dominant defense of the future.

Mykel Williams. The Columbus native and five star defensive lineman remains committed to Southern Cal, but Clay Helton’s dismissal way open a window for Georgia and other schools to get back in the race.

Kamari Wilson. The nation’s top safety prospect from IMG Academy has been rumored to be a UGA lean, or even a secret commit. Whatever his status it’s great to see him in the Classic City

2023 Prospects

Joenel Aguero. The junior cornerback from IMG Academy is likely to be one of the top prospects in the country for next season.

Justin Benton. Another IMG standout, Benton is a Covington native and an early Bulldog target.

Michael Daugherty. The four star safety out of powerhouse Grayson already holds offers from a who’s who of SEC programs.

2024 Prospects

Daniel Calhoun. The massive (6’5, 330 pound) sophomore from Roswell’s Centennial High already claims offers from both the Razorbacks and Bulldogs and will likely be a top 100 recruit for his class.

Waltclaire Flynn, Jr. Grayson lineman also counts early offers from this weekend’s belligerents, as well as FSU, Tennessee and others.

We’ll update this list as other prospects announce their intention to be in the Classic City this weekend, but feel free to drop in any credible visitor reports in the comments as well. Until later...

Go ‘Dawgs!!!
