Winning Smart Victory Post #56

Noon ET/11:00 Central games can sometimes be a trap, but not this time! In Nashville, the Bulldog faithful outnumbered the Commodore fans at least 2-1, and they were mightily rewarded for their trip by a final score of 62-0. The Georgia defense didn't add any points scored to their total (though their fumble recovery and interception account for 14 of those aforementioned 62 points), but neither did they allow any points. All in all, it was an impressive performance.

It is our intention to celebrate Georgia Bulldog Football Wins whenever and wherever they occur. The ugliness or beauty of any particular win is irrelevant for the purposes of the Winning Smart Victory Post. It is therefore my deepest honor and privilege to bring to you this week’s edition of: The Winning Smart Victory Post.

Coach Kirby Smart coached his 70th game tonight for the Red & Black. He currently boasts a 56-14 record and a 0.8000winning percentage, having carded his fifty-sixth win overall over the Commodores of Vanderbilt.

At the identical juncture in their careers:

Vince Dooley’s 70th game as head coach resulted in a Georgia Bulldogs win over Vandy in the fifth game of the 1970 season. Giving Coach Dooley a record of 46-20-4 and 0.6970percentage.

Coach Mark Richt was 57-13 (0.8143) after a win over Ole Miss.

Seventy games into his head coaching career Kirby Smart is one game behind Coach Mark Richt and ahead of Coach Vince Dooley by 10 games. As of now, he is holding his own versus the two winningest coaches in Georgia Football History.

As always . . .

Go ‘Dawgs !!!!
