As Georgia and several other teams begin SEC play, let’s look around the league to see who is making headlines ahead of Week 3.

Here’s what’s happening around the SEC:

· Texas A&M starting quarterback Haynes King suffered a broken leg in the Aggies’ win over Colorado, and we wish him a speedy recovery. Redshirt sophomore Zach Calzada is the new starter for Texas A&M as they prepare to face New Mexico.

· While Florida is dealing with a quarterback controversy between Emory Jones and Anthony Richardson, our old friend Brenton Cox is making the mistake of calling out Bama. The former Georgia linebacker recently said regarding the Gators’ showdown in Gainesville against the Tide, “We’re ready of course. The big question is are they ready?” This… usually does not bode well for the challenging team. Tide by 20+.

· Speaking of Alabama, safety Jordan Battle revealed Nick Saban’s favorite off-colored saying.

· LSU running back John Emery has been declared academically ineligible for the 2021 season due to being registered in the wrong classes. If this is accurate, someone has royally messed up. There are dedicated members of the support staff to ensure this type of thing never happens. I’m unsure if we’ve heard the last of this story.

It’s revenge season in Athens this weekend. GO DAWGS!!!
