Georgia Overview

Georgia’s 56-7 blowout of UAB saw them remain at #2 in the polls, picking up seven more points than Week 2 but losing a #1 vote to Alabama.

Barring something unforeseen, it appears Georgia will remain at #2 unless the Bulldogs get upset or Bama drops a game.

This week, the Dawgs host South Carolina in primetime Between the Hedges.

Movers

Fell Out: #14 USC, #15 Texas

Newcomers: #20 Arkansas, #23 Brigham Young

Overrated

#5 Iowa. The Hawkeyes are coming off a great win against Iowa State in Ames, but I’m still not convinced. Their win over Indiana could look worse if the Hoosiers don’t give Cincinnati a good game, and Iowa State struggled to put Northern Iowa away. They’re in the correct division of the Big Ten to make a sustained run, but Iowa may only be the third or fourth best team in the conference still.

Underrated

#25 Michigan. The problems the Wolverines and Jim Harbaugh have experienced are well documented, but Michigan avoided the letdown against Washington and won convincingly. The running game looks great behind Blake Corum, and the schedule is favorable. I won’t go so far as to say Michigan will finally defeat Ohio State (no one should ever predict this until it finally happens), however, Ohio State’s defense needs to drastically improve, plus The Game will be played in Ann Arbor. Stay tuned.

#1 Alabama at #11 Florida

#22 Auburn at #10 Penn State

#19 Arizona State at #23 BYU

Upset Alert

Though Pitt almost gave the game away, they still proved me wrong and held off Tennessee.

This week, while many will be taking Indiana + 3 ½ at home against Cincinnati, I will be taking Virginia Tech +3 on the road against West Virginia, solidifying their claim as the ACC’s second best team.

GO DAWGS!!!
