First Quarter Open Thread

Welcome to the Stetson Bennett era. Again.

Okay perhaps that’s a bit of an exaggeration. JT Daniels is very likely to be back under center next week when the Dawgs take on South Carolina to open SEC play. For now we’ll get to see Stetson Bennett and likely Carson Beck get their shots at running the Bulldog attack.

It’s not an exaggeration to say that this UAB defense is good enough to give those guys some fits. The Blazers return nine starters from last year’s unit which was among the top ten in total defense I. The country.

Look for Todd Monken to keep the ball on the ground and use high percentage passes to help his QB (whoever that is at any given moment) to manage the game. I know we’re all itching to see the Red and Black attack opened up and humming. I doubt somewhat that this is the day that happens, but hey, if Stetson Bennett can score 24 on Auburn he can probably at least equal that number against the Blazers. Right?
