The Dawg Sports Live guys brought in some heavy hitters this morning to get you ready for G-Day. OG Bulldawg Bloggers Senator Blutarksy and Macondawg joined the show to help us pinpoint what to watch for tomorrow, and after listening to what they had to say I must admit I’m excited to see what will happen on the Sanford Stadium turf this weekend.

For the next 36 hours it’s football season. Tomorrow we will watch Georgia play a football game, and when it is over we will sit back and digest every little crumb of information that we can glean from it. Granted, the game that will take place on Saturday at Sanford Stadium is an intrasquad scrimmage. But it has been two full years since we’ve seen UGA play one of those, and we are going to see a lot of stud blue-chippers take meaningful snaps for the first time ever in a Georgia uniform.
Sure, it looks like as many as 14 players could be held out of the proceedings tomorrow, but the fact this game is occurring at all is still cause for celebration after the year we had in 2020. Even though Sanford Stadium will still have a limited capacity of 25%, this is a step towards college football normalcy.
There’s a lot of juicy nuggets packed into this 30 minute episode. Among them is The Senator’s theory that one of Georgia’s starting defensive backs is currently enrolled elsewhere. Macondawg is high on Brock Bowers, while none of us know what to make of the position battles along the offensive line.
Will Carson Beck answer the bell and take over the #2 quarterback role? Can these young corners hold up against the talented UGA wide-receiver corps? Will Todd Monken tease us with any new wrinkles? Can JT Daniels show improved mechanics on the deep ball?
Macondawg also wonders who the Torin Kirtsey of the day could be, and reminded us of all the promise Kirtsey showed in one year’s G-Day game before eventually vanishing into college football oblivion. No matter what happens we’ll have plenty of fodder to occupy the hungry minds of Bulldawg Nation... for a week or two.
