We’ve reached the part of the season where there are more consequential games than you can shake a stick at. Part of that is because the Top 25 has been so active. We’ve got games this weekend which look to be highly competitive and full of implications that, only a few weeks ago, seemed like snoozers on paper. Not only that, but teams everyone was so sure were playoff contenders last month have fallen completely out the Top 25. It’s an exciting time to be alive and we’re blessed with a great slate of games with which to fill our weekend. So...
Let’s do it!

And now for my viewing suggestions for each time slot:
THURSDAY
#15 Coastal Carolina Chanticleers @ Arkansas State Red Wolves, 7:30 p.m. - ESPNU
Nothing quite like a Thursday night in the Sun Belt.
FRIDAY
Stanford Cardinal @ #22 Arizona State Sun Devils, 10:30 p.m. - ESPN
Pac-12 After Dark on a Friday night? Doesn’t get much better than that.
SATURDAY NOON
#6 Oklahoma Sooners vs. #21 Texas Longhorns (Dallas) - 12:00 p.m. - ABC
I could easily make an argument that Arkansas/Ole Miss will be the better game, but I just have a feeling this one is gonna be full of all manner of shenanigans and tomfoolery. Heck, by the end there might even be some malarkey.
SATURDAY AFTERNOON
#2 Georgia Bulldogs @ #18 Auburn Tigers, 3:30 p.m. - CBS
When I first saw that CBS had picked up the Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry, I was aghast. Surely we were about to endure the incessant nonsense babbling of Gary Danielson for the first time this season. But hallelujah! We have been saved by the proverbial CBS night game! To all the Alabama and Texas A&M fans out there... thank you for your sacrifice. I’ll be over here hanging out with Aaron Murray (huzzah!) and Rick Neuheisel (yeah, well he’s ok I guess). By the way, you’re probably gonna wanna keep the remote handy cause we’ve also got #3 Iowa and #4 Penn State on Fox (4:00) and who knows when the next time you’ll be able to say “#3 Iowa and #4 Penn State” will come along.
SATURDAY EVENING
#1 Alabama Crimson Tide @ Texas A&M Aggies, 8:00 p.m. - CBS
This game sure looked a lot more interesting a few weeks ago, huh? Still, join me as we partake in that most predictable of all college football traditions: Listening to Gary Danielson pick a narrative mid-first quarter and then absolutely run it into the ground for the rest of the game. Say it together now... “Shut Up, Gary!”
SATURDAY LATE
UCLA Bruins @ Arizona WIldcats, 10:30 p.m. - ESPN
Back for a second serving of Pac-12 After Dark.
That’s all for now, folks. May the Auburn fans keep their toilet paper stuffed in their pants where it belongs. Auburna delenda est.
Until later...
GOOOO DAWGS!!!
