Tuesday ‘Dawg Bites Remembers Those Who Stomped The Gators Before Us

Tuesday: It’s Monday, only even further from the weekend.

But before you begin toting barges and lifting bales, let’s get a handle on what’s making news in Bulldog Nation.

On the recruiting trail, the news continues to look promising for Georgia and fairly rotten for the Fightin’ Dan Mullens.

If you’re scoring at home, four star Texas cornerback Julian Humphrey had been the top rated recruit in Florida’s class until he decommitted. He inherited that title from linebacker Shemar James, who decommitted last week. Both have recently visited Athens. Hehehe.

And while future players may just now be avoiding the mistake of donning that hideous blue and orange, Dawgs247 has a great list of some of the all-time greatest Gator killers in UGA history.

Over at the Banner Herald Marc Weiszer has a thorough analysis of where we stand in the quarterback non-controversy. As Marc notes, Bennett is leading the SEC in passer rating and yards per attempt, which would normally make a change at the position seem nuts. Unless it’s for the guy who’s never lost a game at Georgia as a starter and won the job out of camp to begin with.

Things are also a bit murky on the QB front down in Gainesville, with Dan Mullen also declining to name a starter. Andy Hutchins of our SB Nation sister site Alligator Army points out (rightly I think) that there’s no reason for the Head Ball Genius (TM) to publicly tell Georgia who to prepare for. Also, as Andy rightly notes, Florida may need to play two guys just to absorb the pounding they’re going to take. Y’all have a fantastic Second Monday. And....

Go ‘Dawgs!!!
