Gameday Morning Dawg Bites and Open Comment Thread

I’ve been there, I know the way...

NCAA Football: Georgia at Vanderbilt Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

It’s another Saturday morning and this one comes with some very special visitors to Athens. But enough about all the recruits on campus today... we also have the folks from the Worldwide Leader who will be bringing you ESPN’s College Gameday from both the Myers Quad and Sanford Stadium. Kirby has asked that our fans be elite today (I’ll save you the acronym) as the #8 Arkansas Razorbacks roll in to take on our #2 Georgia Bulldogs. Now I know Kirby was referring to the noon kickoff and getting fans in the stadium early and loud, but I like to think he was referring to those of us cheering from home as well. That’s why I came home yesterday, went to sleep at 5 p.m. and woke up at 9 p.m. to throw two substantial pork butts on the smoker. I’ve been up all night tending to them and if that isn’t elite, I don’t know what is. At any rate, let’s get on with things... beginning with a little musical accompaniment:

And now your Gameday Morning Dawg Bites:

  • If you’re interested in some predictions about today’s game beyond what we’ve brought your here at Dawg Sports, here you go.
  • Speaking of, here’s a quality take from the Razorbacks’ hometown.
  • You’ve probably heard by now that JT Daniels is a “game-time-decision” for today’s game. I love The Mailman and his commitment to UGA, but I’m really hoping this is more gamesmanship than anything. The news moved the Vegas line, but not by much so I’m guessing they assume JT will play... or maybe they think it doesn’t really matter with Georgia’s D (I kind of agree).
  • The Red and Black has a short profile of everyone’s new favorite behemoth tight end. You know, the one we’re actually throwing to.
  • Here’s an early look at Jordan Davis’ potential draft status.
  • And here’s another that looks at not only Davis, but also the rest of Georgia’s draft-eligible players... if you want Mel Kiper’s take.
  • Finally, it isn’t really related to the Dawgs at all, but I just find it hilarious that some poor sports staff writers had to write this.

As you know, this is also your Gameday Morning Open Comment Thread. Let us know how you’re spending the morning, how you see today’s contest, and how you plan on being elite inside or outside of Sanford Stadium. Macondawg will be along in the 11 o’clock hour with your first game thread and throughout the day with comment threads for the rest of Saturday’s action.

Until then...
