Metrics and Yardage Stats Have Upcoming Foes Among National Leaders

Last week I showed some areas of concern in the UGA

offense which could make a road matchup a little more difficult than Dawg fans wanted. The defense remained elite and even allowing slightly more than averages, it was more than enough for big road win. Georgia finished game with an offensive success rate of 58% thanks to a second half which saw the offense with a 80% success rate after a 40% first half. Dawgs imposed their will in second half with a big bomb to Ladd McConkey and a back breaking rushing drive to all by end it.

Dawgs can all lock up the east with wins over over Kentucky on Saturday and Florida the following game. Kentucky is sporting a Net YPP average of 2.0 which is 11th in nation and ninth best Power 5 offensive success rate of 50.7%. Florida has a net YPP of 2.4, 8th best and a 49.2% offensive success rate with 7.2 Offensive YPP. Formidable opponent stand in the way and the home schedule which looked pretty mediocre in August now will host ESPN Game Day for a 2nd time in 3 weeks as undefeated Kentucky comes to town.

Group of 5 has both Coastal Carolina and Cincinnati among leaders in both offense and defense yards per play
Florida and Kentucky are leaders in both raw and opponent adjusted yards per play
Kentucky’s offense is legit and not completely dependant on the run.
Hard not to expect Ohio State to make the playoff after an early loss. They are all over these graphs.
