Georgia Overview

In The Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry, Georgia went to Auburn and manhandled the Tigers, winning 34-10. The offense was multi-faceted, and the defense was extremely good once again.

Georgia’s win, combined with Alabama’s shocking defeat to Texas A&M, vaults the Bulldogs to #1 in both the AP and Coaches Polls. It is the first time UGA has been ranked #1 in the AP Poll during the season since 1982. Not only are the Dawgs ranked first in the AP Poll, but they received every single first place vote as well.

This week, #1 Georgia hosts #11 Kentucky with College Gameday making a return to Athens.

Fell Out: #18 Auburn

Newcomers: #21 Texas A&M

#2 Iowa. The Hawkeyes are a great story and are playing fantastic defense while forcing turnovers galore. However, Iowa has punted 40 times this season, which is tied for fourth most in the nation. This is not a sustainable pace if you have playoff ambitions.

#12 Oklahoma State. The Cowboys had a Bye last week, but they are playing maybe the best defense in the Mike Gundy era. The Sooners have plenty of talent, but there is something that still isn’t clicking for Oklahoma, though that may all change with Caleb Williams at the helm. Regardless, Oklahoma State is a real threat to win the Big 12 this season.

Upset Alert

I took Texas to upset Oklahoma last week, and they gave away a big lead to the Sooners to end right at the end of the game.

This week, I’m taking Kansas State +4 ½ at home over Iowa State.
