Hope springs eternal.
Watching Georgia win at Jordan-Hare (5 in a row, 14 of the last 17) was almost enough to make me Believe
Almost. UGA is ranked #1 for the first time since 2008 (preseason), for the first time in the regular season since 1982 and the first time unanimously EVER (thanks, PastorDawg). There will be plenty of time to worry/Munson about next week later, but for now…
It is our intention to celebrate Georgia Bulldog football wins whenever and wherever they occur. The ugliness or beauty of any particular win is irrelevant for the purposes of the Winning Smart Victory Post. It is therefore my deepest honor and privilege to bring to you this week’s edition of: The Winning Smart Victory Post.
Saturday Coach Kirby Smart coached his 72nd game for the Red & Black. He currently boasts a 58-14 record and a 0.8056 winning percentage, having carded his fifty-eighth win overall over the War Tiglesmen at Jordan-Hare stadium.
At the identical juncture in their careers:
Vince Dooley’s 72nd game as head coach resulted in a Georgia Bulldogs win over South Carolina in the seventh game of the 1970 season, giving Coach Dooley a record of 48-20-4 and 0.7059 percentage.
Coach Mark Richt was 57-15 (0.7917) after a loss to Vanderbilt.
Seventy-two games into his head coaching career Kirby Smart is one game ahead of Coach Mark Richt and ahead of Coach Vince Dooley by 10 games. As of now, he is holding his own versus the two winningest coaches in Georgia Football History.
As always . . .
Go ‘Dawgs !!!!
