As we enter October, we’re also entering the second week of SEC play. The “warm up” games conference officials gave several teams are over now and, after just two weeks, we’re really into the meat of the schedule. The ACC and Big 12 are taking a break from the out-of-conference games for the most part and are starting to have some quality matchups. That said, I am (I think understandably) disappointed in the lack of a Thursday night game and a nightcap game on Saturday this week. Ah, well... best to be thankful for what we’ve got. Let’s go!

And now for my viewing suggestions for each time slot:

Campbell Fighting Camels @ Wake Forest Demon Deacons, ACCNetwork - 7:00pm

Those pesky Camels just won’t quit. Sure they’re sitting at 0-3, but they almost knocked off Georgia Southern and hung with Appalachian State for quite awhile. I’m not saying they’re going to win... I’m just saying I’m not sure I buy them as 34 point underdogs against 0-2 Wake Forest.

South Carolina Gamecocks @ #3 Florida Gators, ESPN - 12:00pm

In which we grab the largest tub of popcorn money can buy and settle in to watch the beginning of the end for William Lawrence Muschamp and his Gamechickens. I just wish it came at the hands of someone else... but’ll take it.

#13 Texas A&M Aggies @ #2 Alabama Crimson Tide, CBS - 3:30pm

Ahh, the dulcet tones of Gary Danielson fumbling through shallow, narrative-driven analysis in early October. Nature is healing.

#7 Auburn Tigers @ #4 Georgia Bulldogs ESPN - 7:30pm

The Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry rides again. I think we see a settled and, therefore, much improved squad this week. Its all gonna come down to competent QB play and our ability to establish the run. I feel fine about the defense’s ability to run the Gus Bus into a ditch. Let’s see what happens!

That’s all for now, folks.

Again, Auburna delenda est... and GOOOO DAWGS!!!
