It’s finally happened. After enduring three weeks of the exquisite joy of college football and the unbearable pain of it not being your Georgia Bulldogs, gameday is finally coming for the faithful of Dawg Nation. I’ve spent the past three Saturdays glued to the TV from noon to midnight as usual, but it just hasn’t been the same. As much as I enjoy the Campbell Fighting Camels, a man can only take so much.
All that is about to change. The SEC finally joins the fold and we have a college football Saturday worth writing home about. GET HYPE!!! Let’s go!

And now for my suggestions on how to maximize your viewing pleasure in each time slot:
UAB Blazers @ South Alabama Jaguars - ESPN - 7:30 PM
Yes, yes. I realize this is the only game in the time slot, but with UAB facing a South Alabama squad that beat Southern Miss and just barely lost to Tulane, this one could get interesting.
MTSU Blue Raiders @ UTSA Roadrunners - CBSSN - 8:00 PM
I admit to not knowing a ton about these teams... but they sure do make for a fun word scramble! I’ve got “must” and “smut” and “tums” from the Blue Raiders... still working on UTSA. Anyway, it’s the only game, so, it is what it is.
Is Kentucky only ranked because the B1G and Pac 12 aren’t playing/ranked? Sure. Same could probably be said about Tennessee. But it doesn’t matter because this gives us a ranked SEC game. And ever since I previewed both of these teams earlier in the month, I’ve been intrigued to see how this particular opener will play out.
I’m going to start with Alabama/Mizzou on ESPN at 7:00, but I figure it’ll mostly be over by the time this one starts. I have this twisted fascination with what’s gonna happen here. I have a gut feeling it’s going to be a carwreck... but I can’t for the life of me decide if I think that’s true for Tennessee, South Carolina, or both. Should be interesting to find out.
Beggars can’t be choosers.
That’s all for now. Just a few days more...
