Good Golly, Hog Molly! Another Offensive Lineman Commits to UGA

Dylan Fairchild gives his verbal this afternoon

NCAA Football: Georgia at Georgia Tech

Another day, another big time pickup for Georgia’s 2021 recruiting cycle. Dylan Fairchild, 6’5”, 298 lb. offensive guard out of West Forsyth High School in Cumming, has committed to Georgia this afternoon, spurning the likes of Auburn, Tennessee, Alabama and South Carolina just to name a few.

It’s incredible to think that since the departure of beloved offensive line coach Sam Pittman to Arkansas as the Razorback head coach - in the midst of the early signing period - Matt Luke has stepped in and not missed a beat.

Fairchild is the state heavyweight wrestling champion and anyone who has ever wrested (or, wrassled), knows how grueling this sport is, and how well-conditioned one must be to excel. Dylan isn’t just a big guy; he’s athletic and just what the doctor ordered as Georgia continues to add elite talent to a group that will be protecting elite quarterbacks and blocking for elite running backs for the foreseeable future.

Again, Matt Luke is doing an amazing job here since arriving in Athens only about 6 months ago. Big-time offensive tackle Micah Morris out of Camden county has already pledged to the good guys. Fairchild’s pledge has vaulted Georgia to 12th nationally with only 9 commits according to the 247 Sports rating system.

It’s been an outstanding week, with 2022 defensive back Marquis Groves-Killebrew committing earlier and USC (the real USC) transfer quarterback J.T. Daniels set to enroll.

Is the gap still closing? Just asking for a friend...

As Always, GO DAWGS!
