The world feels like a very different place than it did one short month ago. And it’s tempting to wonder if it will ever again truly feel the way it once did.
The truth is....it probably won’t. It occurred to me a few days ago that students in Athens now will look back at this novel coronavirus in a similar way to how those in my age bracket (who were there in 2001) look back on 9/11. It’s going to be a line of demarcation that will be etched in their collective memory. There are going to be mental scars that never quite heal I’m afraid.
One of the things we’ve grappled with here and across the SB Nation network in recent days is how to deal with that. Our usual tactic of Drive By Truckers concert video and Steve Spurrier jokes seems about 60% calibrated to deliver the optimal effect. We’ll let you know when we get our arms around this thing. Y’all do the same, please.
For now, I think I can say that this is probably not the actual end of the world. For one, if it was there would be more locusts. For another, Kirby Smart promised me his team will be back, and Kirby wouldn’t lie about something that important.

Stay safe. Be good to each other. It won’t ever be quite like it was before, but it will be better than it is now. Until later...
