Boom! QB Muschamp opts for Athens

Those family conversations at the Boom home are gonna be something else

Georgia fans aren’t even having to wait for National Signing Day tomorrow for a flip.

Jackson Muschamp (yes, the son of that Muschamp in Columbia, SC) has flipped to Georgia from Colorado State, opting instead to stay closer to home as a preferred walk-on.

First, there’s the obvious of what this means for Georgia. It’s depth under center. If you don’t think that Kirby Smart was sweating bullets last year with Stetson Bennett as the fire insurance plan, this confirms it. With D’wan Mathis, Carson Beck and Jamie Newman along with Bennett, the message is clear that Georgia wants both options and guys to push each other on the practice field.

There’s also the bigger picture. The literal offspring of a divisional rival’s head coach (if you want to call USC East that) plays for Georgia.

Boom!

Go Dawgs!
