This afternoon brings a great chance to watch one of the players at the center of UGA’s future fortunes play his final high school game.
Five star Georgia quarterback signee Brock Vandagriff and his Prince Avenue Christian teammates will take on Trinity Christian at 3:30 on Georgia Public Broadcasting in the Class A (Private) title game.
Vandagriff has lived up to his considerable recruiting hype as a senior. The 6’3, 205 pound senior has led the Wolverines to a 12-1 record while passing for 3907 yards and 44 touchdowns against only 6 interceptions. He’s also gotten the job done on the ground, rushing for 427 yards and 16 touchdowns on 92 carries.
Vandagriff and his teammates have breezed through the playoffs thus far, most recently beating traditional Class A contenders Eagle’s Landing and Wesleyan 38-0 and 50-3, respectively.
They’ll get a stouter test from Trinity, which features junior quarterback David Dallas. The 6’0, 203 pound Dallas already holds offers from schools like UAB, Akron, Central Michigan, and Liberty. He’s thrown for just under 2000 yards and 16 touchdowns for the 12-2 Lions.
Vandagriff is the only UGA signee in the game, though Trinity will also lean heavily on sophomore receiver/defensive back Aaron Gates. The 6’0, 180 pound prospect already claims offers from Georgia, LSU, and South Carolina among others. Until later...
