Good Morning Bulldog Nation! Welcome to Tuesday!
No sense in burying the lead here. The biggest news from last night is the 2020 football season has prematurely ended with last night’s announcement that Georgia v. Vanderbilt is cancelled because Vandy is unable to send 53 scholarship players to Athens. Lots of rumors are swirling about a possible replacement game as this weekends contest was to be Senior Day. We’ll post as soon as we know something.
In case you hit an off the grid location immediately following Saturday’s contest and are just now returning to the interwebs, you likely heard the two big stories from the weekend. Florida lost by a shoe and Auburn is spending $21.45m to fire Gus. I suspect we’re all still giggling about those two. SEC Shorts is keeping the hilarity alive for us and covered both in hysterical fashion.
If you were wondering where Auburn’s getting all that money, well the recently announced deal with Disney might explain things. The AJC has a Q&A on how SEC football will look in the future.
After falling from 1st to 4th in the depth chart, D’Wan Mathis has announced he is transferring to Temple. Also transferring is former walk on TE Kolby Wyatt who’s going to Hawaii.
The early signing period runs from Wednesday to Friday and the Red & Black has a preview for you. Brock Vandergriff also had some inside information on this years signing class.
After a dominate Georgia win last weekend, Eric Stokes earned SEC Co-Defensive player of the week honors. Meanwhile Monty Rice has been named a Butkus Award finalist.
That’s all the news I have for you, so y’all mind your manners, and play pretty…
Until next time….
GO DAWGS!!! BEAT EVERYBODY!!!
