Friday Morning Dawg Bites Needs a Haircut

Happy Friday once again, Dawg Nation. Last Friday was not spectacular, as it was announced (after the posting of this article) that our game versus Vanderbilt would be postponed. Let’s hope a similar fate is not in store for our game tomorrow against Missouri.

Speaking of the Vanderbilt game, it was announced that it would kickoff at noon on Saturday, December 19th. A television network has yet to be announced.

On the transfer front, after having wide receiver Makiya Tongue and Trey Blount and lineman Netori Johnson enter the transfer portal, smoke is starting to grow heavier about an incoming transfer. LSU tight end Arik Gilbert has officially opted out of the remainder of the 2020 season, and rumors are swirling that he wants to come back to Georgia.

A five-star recruit from Marietta, Gilbert chose LSU over Georgia after the Tigers’ 15-0 national championship season. But now, it seems Kirby Smart will have a second opportunity to bring the big tight end to Athens. And what a weapon he would be for the 2021 offense, assuming he would be granted an eligibility waiver from the SEC.

Finally, Smart & Co. released a video about a barbershop in the Butts-Mehre building on campus. They even teased about finding a potential barber. Is this just good, old fashioned marketing, or is this a subtle hint about five-star linebacker Xavian Sorey, whose nickname is “The Barber”?

As always - wash your hands, wear your masks, and GO DAWGS!!!
