It’s Election Day, Dawg Nation! Hopefully you are greeted with short lines and good weather at the polls. However, if you find yourself stuck in line, come check out who is making news in the SEC.
Here’s what’s happening around the SEC:
· Five players received half-game suspensions for their roles in the halftime brawl during the Florida-Missouri game, including Gators defensive lineman Zachary Carter and linebacker Antwuan Powell. Florida coach Dan Mullen also received a fine for his antics, which were truly quite odd.
· Ole Miss tight end Damarcus Thomas was seriously injured at practice and was airlifted to a local hospital. Thankfully, his injuries were not as serious as were initially feared and he has regained movement and feeling in his body. We continue to wish Damarcus a speedy recovery.
· Alabama quarterback Mac Jones is now the favorite to win the Heisman Trophy after Trevor Lawrence’s odds rose due to his COVID-19 infection.
· There are some questions as to whether Mississippi State running back Kylin Hill is opting out for the remainder of the season. Hill’s name is still on the official roster on the website, although he has reportedly opted out.
Until next week – go vote, wash your hands, wear your masks, and GO DAWGS!!!
