In anniversaries, birthdays and such things, 50 is generally considered a big milestone. We could call this the over the hill edition, but CKS is roughly my age so I’m not going there. Last night your Classic City Canines handily defeated the South Carolina Gamecocks in spite of their efforts to upgrade at the Head Coach position by removing former Georgia player & coach Will Muschamp and installing former Georgia player & coach Mike Bobo.
It is our intention to celebrate Georgia Bulldog Football Wins whenever and wherever they occur. The ugliness of any particular win is irrelevant for the purposes of the Winning Smart Victory Post.
It is therefore my deepest honor and privilege to bring to you this week’s edition of: The Winning Smart Victory Post.
Coach Kirby Smart coached his 64th game tonight for the Red & Black. He currently boasts a 50-14 record and a 0.7813 winning percentage, having carded his fiftieth win overall over the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
At the identical juncture in their careers:
Vince Dooley’s 64th game as head coach resulted in a Georgia Bulldog defeat to the Georgia Tech in 1969. Giving Coach Dooley a record of 43-17-4 and 0.7031 percentage.
Coach Mark Richt was 52-12 (0.8125) after beating LSU in the 2005 season.
Sixty-three games into his head coaching career Kirby Smart is two games behind Coach Mark Richt and ahead of Coach Vince Dooley by 4 games. As of now, he is holding his own versus the two winningest coaches in Georgia Football History.
As always . . .
Go ‘Dawgs !!!
