It’s going to be a rather balmy day for November here in the Classic City. As our Georgia Bulldogs prepare to take on the Bizarro Bulldogs of Starkville and their pirate leader, I’d like to begin the day by imploring you to enjoy every bit of it. College football’s grasp on COVID and, thus, its ability to see its season to fruition is becoming more tenuous all the time. But for tonight, we’ll have football (hopefully). It really is a strange time to be alive. It’s the weekend before Thanksgiving, we’re in the middle of a pandemic, the temperature for a night-time kickoff in Sanford Stadium looks to be in the mid to high 60s, and Georgia still hasn’t figured out its quarterback competition. Perhaps we’re all just in the middle of some cosmic piece of performance art... a joke we haven’t been let in on...
At any rate, let’s appreciate it for what it is and get this thing started:
And now for your Gameday Morning Dawg Bites:
- As of this writing, 16 games originally scheduled for today have been cancelled or postponed. Like I said above, cherish today... there’s no telling how many or how few like it we may have left this year.
- If you need to brush up on the series history between the SEC’s two sets of Bulldogs, UGAWire has you covered.
- The home-state paper of the Bizarro Bulldogs has 3 things to watch for in tonight’s matchup.
- Ready for some roundball? Our friends over at Rock M Nation have some thoughts on what could be a tricky year for Coach Crean.
- Also on the court... Rayshaun Hammonds, who went undrafted in Wednesday’s NBA Draft after foregoing another year in Athens, has signed with the Indiana Pacers.
- Finally, it took a couple of weeks, but the Dawgs managed to beat the Gators. Soundly.
This is also your Gameday Morning Open Comment Thread. Use it to share your thoughts on tonight’s game, how you plan to spend the day, and any big Thanksgiving week plans you may have (also, recipes are always appreciated). Macondawg will be along later with comment threads for the day’s afternoon games and, of course, tonight’s contest.
Until then, stay safe and...
GOOOO DAWGS!!!
