Georgia Overview

Georgia came away with an extremely lackluster win against Kentucky, defeating the Wildcats 14-3. The game was not as close as the score appeared, as Kentucky never really threatened to score a touchdown. However, our passing offense was below par to put it politely, and our run defense looked susceptible.

Despite a career day for Zamir White, we will need to play a lot better if we hope to win in Jacksonville this weekend against Cousin Eddie’s looney Gators.

Movers

Fell Out: #15 North Carolina, #16 Kansas State, #18 Penn State

Newcomers: #22 Texas, #24 Auburn, #25 Liberty

Overrated

#5 Georgia. Look, we have not had a game with two good halves all season – and last week against Kentucky we had zero good halves. With the injuries on the defensive side of the ball adding up and the ineptitude on offense, we are not a top 5 team in the nation and will struggle to win this weekend against an electric Florida offense.

Or maybe this is just a massive reverse jinx and the Dawgs will do what we typically do in Jacksonville in recent games and come away with a big W.

Underrated

¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Shrug emoji is the underrated team of the week, because I honestly don’t know who is underrated this week. The Pac 12 hasn’t played a game. The Big 10 looks like it does every year with Ohio State being elite and everyone else being average or trash. The Big 12 is already out of the Playoff race. And the SEC and ACC are led by Alabama and Clemson with less than a handful of contenders remaining combined.

Then there are the Group of Five teams, who look better than usual this year but still have not faced decent opponents. I truly think one of them will make the Playoff this year.

This Week’s Top 25 Matchups

#23 Michigan at #13 Indiana

#1 Clemson vs. #4 Notre Dame

Upset Alert

Last week, I correctly took the Longhorns to upset Oklahoma State. Texas is back, y’all! Or at least that’s what they keep telling me.

This week, I am NOT taking Notre Dame to upset Clemson at home. I’ve seen with my own two eyes a team with a true freshman, inexperienced QB with an incredible backfield and veteran defense go into South Bend and win.

This week, I am taking Boise State, a three-point underdog, to upset BYU. I’ll admit, there is no statistical backing for this selection. It’s solely because strange things occur in games played late on non-Saturday nights on that blue field in Boise.
