In a low-scoring affair that brought out as much angst and consternation as a win over an SEC East opponent can, the Georgia Bulldogs outscored the Kentucky Wildcats 14 – 3 yesterday.
It is our intention to celebrate Georgia Bulldog Football Wins whenever and wherever they occur. The ugliness of any particular win is irrelevant for the purposes of the Winning Smart Victory Post.
It is therefore my deepest honor and privilege to bring to you this week’s edition of: The Winning Smart Victory Post.
Coach Kirby Smart coached his 61st game tonight for the Red & Black. He currently boasts a 48-13 record and a 0.7869 winning percentage, having carded his forty-eighth win overall over the Kentucky Wildcats.
At the identical juncture in their careers:
Vince Dooley’s 61st game as head coach resulted in a Georgia Bulldog defeat in Knoxville to the Tennessee Volunteers in 1969. Giving Coach Dooley a record of 43-15-3 and 0.7295 percentage.
Coach Mark Richt was 49-12 (0.8033) after back to back losses to the Florida Gators & Auburn Tigers in the 2005 season.
Sixty games into his head coaching career Kirby Smart is one game behind Coach Mark Richt and ahead of Coach Vince Dooley by 3 1/2 games. As of now, he is holding his own versus the two winningest coaches in Georgia Football History.
As always . . .
Go ‘Dawgs !!!
Editors Note: I had to recalculate after initial publishing because I completely blanked out that we even had the last game before today. Hat Tip to my sister, squillian, for being “that guy”, willing to do her duty as the much older sister and correct my errors.
