Thursday ‘Dawg Bites

Georgia Bulldog news. It’s out there roaming around in the wild, and we enjoy nothing more than finding it and dragging back here for you to consume. Me Grog, bring you ‘Dawg Bites:

If you’re looking for reason to be optimistic about this weekend’s matchup with Jeremy Pruitt’s School of Mayonnaise-Based Cuisine, Blayne Gilmer has you covered with a catalog of the reasons Georgia’s a 14 point favorite.

I too find the talk of Tennessee’s “longest winning steak in college football” sort of ridiculous given that they haven’t played a ranked team in that time and the average margin of victory was 28-16. This is a team that was a whisper away from losing to a very shaky South Carolina in week one, and is just begging to be exposed.

The Vols will come to Athens with a couple of key players in the secondary back in action. That will be a big deal, because if there’s a way I could see this one going Tennessee’s way it would be via turnovers.

Speaking of which...

Ah yes, 2020 continues to go just as we expected.

Speaking of Bennett, Marc Weiszer traveled down to Blackshear to get the full picture of how Stetson Bennett got to this moment.

I was surprised to learn of Stet’s family connection to the Arkansas football program, and also reminded that had he not grown up a rabid Bulldog fan, the 2020 UGA football season could look a lot different right now. Thank goodness we were wrong about this when he was lighting it up for the Pierce County Black Bears.

Y’all have a great Thursday, and...

Go ‘Dawgs!!!
