After getting a huge commitment on the offensive front last week Kirby & Co. got a large commitment for the defensive line this evening.

Gaffney. South Carolina’s Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins picked the Red and Black over fellow finalists South Carolina, North Carolina, and Tennessee. The 6’5, 298 pounder is the nation’s #5 defensive tackle in 247Sports’ rankings, and the top player in the state of South Carolina.
And while his ranking makes him a pretty big pickup Dawkins’ specific skill set is even more important for the ‘Dawgs. With Julian Rochester, Jordan Davis, and Devonte Wyatt all potentially leaving Athens at the end of the year Georgia needs big, space-eating interior tackles. Dawkins fits that bill perfectly.
The pickup moves UGA into 6th in 247Sports’ rankings, 3rd in the SEC behind Alabama and LSU. There’s still plenty of time until Signing Day, but the ‘Dawgs appears to be building some great momentum for the stretch run. Until later....
