Good afternoon, Bulldog fans. We’ve now seen a decent amount of college football and we’ve started to learn a few things. Mike Bobo maintains a love of play action inside the five yard line that defies explanation. Florida can’t run the ball and can’t play reliable defense, which is okay if you don’t really make them try to do either. Alabama is good. Florida State is bad. Kansas is reeaalllllyyyyy bad.
We’ll probably learn a lot of other useful information in this evening’s slate of games. Obviously there’ll be a separate set of threads for the South’s Oldest Rivalry. But this is the spot for all the evening’s other action. That includes games already in progress including Bama/Aggie, Ole Miss/Kentucky, UNC/Boston College, and Memphis/SMU. It also includes:
- #20 LSU traveling to Vanderbilt to shake off that opening loss to Mississippi State (7:30, SEC Network). I expect Coach O’s boys to take out their frustrations on a Commodore squad that came up just short against Texas A&M last week.
- Tulsa at #11 UCF (7:30, ESPN2). Is it a marquee national game? Not really. But it is a sneaky entertaining, low stakes option to flip over to if you need a distraction at halftime of Georgia/Auburn.
- Virginia at #1 Clemson (7:30, ABC). The odds of the Cavaliers pulling an upset here are very, very low. But I think we can all agree it would be hilarious if they did.
Y’all enjoy your evening. Keep hatin’ Auburn. And....
Go ‘Dawgs!!!
