Georgia Overview

UGA had a bye week as we prepare to take on Kentucky this Saturday in Lexington.

Movers

Fell Out: #19 Virginia Tech, #21 Minnesota, #23 North Carolina State

Newcomers: #17 Indiana, #24 Oklahoma, #25 Boise State

Overrated

#6 Oklahoma State. The Cowboys dodged the upset bullet against Iowa State, who had already defeated Oklahoma this season. Oklahoma State remains the last unbeaten team in the Big 12, but that could soon change with Texas, Kansas State, and Oklahoma the next three opponents for the Cowboys. I believe the Big 12’s playoff hopes will indeed be dashed after that stretch of games.

Underrated

#13 Michigan. The Wolverines kicked off a critical year for Coach Jim Harbaugh in style, dismantling a very good Minnesota team 49-24. Offensive coordinator Josh Gattis has found his quarterback in Joe Milton, and what was once believed to be a year of transition for Michigan may end up being so much more.

Upset Alert

Last week, I was very, very wrong about SMU upsetting Cincinnati. The Bearcats look good and could very well be the first team from the Group of Five to ever make the College Football Playoff.

As for this week, I’m taking Texas, who is a three point underdog, to go into Stillwater and hand Oklahoma State their first loss of the season.
