Colquitt County RB Daijun Edwards commits to join 2020 class

After letting top ranked TB Zach Evans go from his letter of intent, Kirby Smart was looking to still add another ball carrier to Kendall Milton and company Well, today they landed a commitment from south Georgia’s Daijun Edwards.

The Colquitt County product visited Athens last weekend, and the weekend prior was in Arkansas visiting their new coach, Sam Pittman. So he was clearly on the staff’s radar for a while. Listed 5’10 and a touch over 200 pounds, Edwards highlights show some nice hands, along with a little power, speed, and shifty hips to fit in nicely despite his lack of star status.

Smart is hoping he’ll be joined by arguably the top tackle, Broderick Jones out of Lithonia High School, and arguably top interior OL in New Orleans’ Sedrick Van Pran, when signing day rolls around next week, on Wednesday February 5th.
