While it’s a bit early to call any game a must win, this afternoon’s Georgia Bulldog home game against the visiting Ole Miss Rebels sets up as one Tom Crean’s squad really needs. Georgia (11-7, 1-4 SEC) currently sits at #56 in the RPI rankings and solidly outside the list of bubble teams for the NCAA tournament. After facing an early season gauntlet of likely tournament teams (six 2019 tourney teams in a row to start SEC play) this afternoon’s matchup begins a slightly lighter slate in which the Red and Black would ideally pile up some wins.
Ole Miss (9-9, 0-5 SEC) has struggled of late, beginning the season 9-4 then dropping their last five in a row. At home in front of a sellout crowd at Stegeman Coliseum there’s really no excuse for the ‘Dawgs to drop this one. While a victory over the Rebs won’t improve their resume significantly, a loss would be a dagger for the Hoop Hounds’ already foundering tournament hopes.
Tipoff is at 5:30 on SEC Network.
Go ‘Dawgs!!!
