Just let them fight for it hand-to-hand, the way God and the state of Louisiana intended for disputes to be resolved.

Maestro:

This college football season indeed feels like it hit the million mile mark some distance back. Could have been between Northwestern being an actual ranked football team and Dawg Sports writers and commenters kickstarting an ESPY-level act of kindness. Or maybe between the time the Sooner Schooner went careening out of control and “bowl-eligible Illinois” became an actual thing that happened. Like the thirty-fourth inside zone handoff of the day, it just kind of happened. No one knows why. Like losing your pinky in a folding chair then having Sam Pittman pick it up for you. Again, all real things which have happened in this dimension in the recent past. But I digress.

Now here we are, preparing for the final college football game of what has been a generally entertaining football season. Clemson and LSU will square off some time after 8:00 p.m. on ESPN for the chance to claim Tiger supremacy. If you predicted Clemson would be here, I cannot give you points for originality, just accuracy. If you predicted LSU would not only be here, but would be the favorite, I hope your employer lost the drug test results.

You can certainly root for whomever you choose. And while I’m not one for a reflexive “SEC!” chant, I also find Dabo Swinney among the least palatable people in the state of South Carolina, a place that remains too small to be its own country and too big to be a functional insane asylum. Go Bayou Bengals.

But no matter who you’re cheering, or even if you’re just rooting for chaos, please pull up a chair and join us for this last virtual college football watch party of the 2019-ish season. It’s been a gas. Unless you’re Joe Burrow. Then it’s been an ass.

Until later....

Go ‘Dawgs!!!
