Sugar Bowl First Quarter Open Thread: ‘Dawgs Wanted.

Somebody, several somebodies in fact, are going to have to step up if a depleted Georgia is to pull out a victory tonight against #7 Baylor in the Sugar Bowl.

Will some of the Bulldogs’ young skill position players make something special happen? More importantly, will they and the new starters on the offensive front avoid critical, game-changing mistakes?

I have no idea. I also don’t know how well the UGA defense will contain Baylor dual threat QB Charlie Brewer, but I know that doing so will be critical.

I do suspect that we won’t see a lackadaisical effort like the one we witnessed in the 2019 Sugar Bowl. I’m prepared to lose to inexperience, just not laziness. If this team does pull off a win, particularly if it looks halfway decent offensively, the Bulldogs may book themselves a spot on the preseason hype train.

Let’s finish this season strong.

Go ‘Dawgs!!!
