Monday Morning ‘Dawg Bites

NCAA Football: Murray State at Georgia Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

Another week, another chance to do more.

But before you hit the ground running, let us catch you up on the latest news in Bulldog Nation.

But first, question: how are things going up on Rocky Top? Answer: delicious. Okay, moving on....

Vince Dooley had the day he deserved at Sanford Stadium on Saturday. I’m a huge fan of letting people know how much they’re appreciated while they’re still around to hear it, and the decision to go ahead and name the turf at Sanford Stadium for the school’s winningest coach is an excellent example of that.

Georgia opens as a 31 12 point favorite against Arkansas State, which honestly seems a little high to me. This Arkansas State team has a close loss to SMU and a solid win over UNLV. While an upset seems pretty unlikely, the Red Wolves have weapons and will be looking to make a statement.

I don’t know that snazzy new uniforms are the way to make that statement, but the Red Wolves are going to try.

Finally, graduate transfer tight end Eli Wolf is coming on strong, having led the team in receiving on Saturday. Also, he was not on a team that snatched defeat from the jaws of victory against BYU. Once again, Eli Wolf had the best Saturday ever. Until later...
