(Non)Gameday Morning Dawg Bites and Open Comment Thread

My bed is pulling me, gravity... daysleeper...

I’m gonna keep this short, because it’s a bye week and I have big plans for today. First thing this morning, I have to go work the parking lot at another dadgum cross country meet. But after the meet, woooo-boy! The family is heading to Toccoa for a wedding and I am not. After I was invited to yet another fall wedding a few years ago (this one for a family member’s third marriage), I finally put my foot down. I shan’t attend another wedding until my own children get married. And those won’t be on Saturdays in the fall, because I taught them better than that. So... I will be heading home and doing something I haven’t done in (checks age of oldest child) 12 years. I’ll be going back to sleep. It’s going to be glorious.

Let’s go:

Now for a handful of Dawg Bites:

  • You know the only thing better for recruiting than an atmosphere like the one UGA created last Saturday? A bye week after that.
  • Speaking of which, it’s time to break out the Kirby Kopter.
  • Dawgs247 has a Top 10 list of prospects Georgia is targeting in the 2020 class.
  • Vince Dooley was honored today in Athens and in Oconee County. Seems to be going around.
  • So, ol’ Timmy Tebow didn’t think too highly of Georgia’s approach against Notre Dame. That’s ok. I didn’t think too much of the Baby Rhino... nor did NFL coaches not named Josh McDaniels. And now he has the honor of making Paul Finebaum look smart... which is a real feat, but he manages. Honestly, can we just stop entertaining the notion that anyone who voluntarily chooses to spend years in Gainesville, Florida has any sense? (Author’s Note: I don’t necessarily disagree with Tebow’s take here... I just really enjoy pointing out that he’s an NFL washout, a terrible broadcaster, and a filthy Gator... and also there isn’t really a whole lot going on during this bye week)
  • Finally, former Dawg Davin Bellamy has found himself a new NFL destination (albeit on the practice squad). Best of luck to him on breaking into the main roster.

And that’s all the news on a slow news day. This post also serves as your open comment thread for the morning and perhaps early games. I’ll probably wake up at some point and jump in for a bit. Until then, this is your space to share your morning plans, anything special you may have on deck in terms of football food and beverage, and your feelings about whatever the College Gameday goobers get up to. Have a great Saturday and...

GOOOO DAWGS!!!
