Just like that we find ourselves halfway through the first bye week of the season. Even without Georgia Bulldog football this weekend there’s still news to catch up on.
On the injury front, Kirby Smart updated the media yesterday on the various walking wounded in red and black. For the most part it sounds like the banged up Bulldogs will be back soon enough. The bad news is that the foot issues which have plagued senior defensive end David Marshall are ongoing and may follow him for the remainder of his time in Athens.
Our good friend dudeyoucrazy looks at the competing national narratives that emerged from the Georgia/Notre Dame brawl and arrives at the only logical conclusion: the Red and Black are the best team in the nation.
I hope you took the opportunity last week to visit our other friends at One Foot Down, and I hope you’ll swing by there one more time for this great frame-by-frame analysis of Jake Fromm’s back shoulder touchdown throw to Lawrence Cager.
Derrik Klassen has his own assessment of where Jake Fromm has excelled and where he struggles, all with a view toward how the Bulldog signal caller might project to the NFL.
Finally, Jake Rowe of Dawgs247 has some color from Kirby on why Zamir White was nowhere to be seen on Saturday despite being healthy. I can get behind going with the tailback who has the hot hand. But given how much we saw of Brian Herrien and how much the ‘Dawgs threw it against the Irish, I can’t help but think the staff placed a premium on pass protection and ball security. There’s nothing wrong with that, but it would be nice to see the rest of the tailbacks get some looks coming out of the bye. Everybody have a great morning, and ....
Go ‘Dawgs!!!
