Welcome to Tuesday, Bulldog fans! In case you didn’t know, I spent my formative years in the 80’s (emotional development was thwarted during the same span). As such, I will try to bring you the best** music from this seminal decade that gave us the Rex Robinson, Kevin, Butler, and John Kasay.
We’ve had good kickers since then. Some who might have even wilted in a big moment or two. But never did I believe we’d reach the heights in the kicking game that we have with our current Mr. Automatic. Such is his due, we regale him with song:
Now on to news and notes of the Georgia Bulldogs:
J.R. Reed also got some love, this time as a member of the PFF Defensive team of the week.
And next time Blankenship puts toe to leather, it will be at 7:00 pm ET on ESPN against Tennessee. Our record on the worldwide leader? Actually not too bad.
The news isn’t all rosy red like Dooley Field on a Saturday night. It’s tempered with an onset of the dreaded injury bug. There have been seasons in recent years that were without doubt affected by injuries. Thanks to depth, playing backups early, and the correct mentality, UGA shouldn’t have too much of a drop off. A tip to the conference, Kirby, Butts-Mehre, whoever made up the schedule because we can use the bye week.
We’re not the only ones to notice the depth of the bench and the fruits of Coach Smart’s recruiting.
Beat writer Jed May thinks the close nature of Saturday’s win may be just the thing for this version of Bulldog football.
There was another SEC weekly award winner for the Bulldogs, this time for the women’s volleyball team. Congrats to Kacie Evans, and Coach Black who is on a five-match winning streak.
It’s a bye week. It’s time to catch up on work, catch up on personal items, catch up on whatever you want. But if you want to sit back and read Dawg Sports all day, we won’t tell.
And as always...
