Georgia Overview
In a heavyweight fight, Georgia defeated Notre Dame 23-17 in front of the largest crowd ever to watch a football game in Sanford Stadium.
At times it wasn’t pretty, and there is certainly room for improvement, but any win against a top ten opponent is a great win. This slugfest will prove valuable to this team in the long run, having been battle tested against another playoff contender.
The Dawgs have a bye this week to get healthy before returning to SEC play.
Movers
Fell Out: #19 Washington State, #24 Arizona State, #25 TCU
Newcomers: #21 USC, #24 Kansas State, #25 Michigan State
Overrated
#19 Utah. The Utes lost to Southern California on Friday night, yet are still ranked above the Trojans. That. Does Not. Make Sense. We’re splitting hairs here, but the Trojans should have jumped the Utes in the polls.
Underrated
SMU. The Mustangs pulled off the upset against previously ranked TCU to remain undefeated. I would’ve liked to have seen them get a bit more love in the polls and being ranked #25 ahead of Michigan State.
This Week’s Top 25 Matchups
#18 Virginia at #10 Notre Dame
#21 USC at #17 Washington
Upset Alert
Last week, I nailed the USC upset pick. This week, I’m taking Maryland to pull off the upset against Penn State on home on Friday night.
