The Bulldogs open the home slate of their volleyball schedule this week, hosting NC State on Thursday and Georgia Tech on Friday. Georgia is 6-3, having won all three matches last weekend at the Duke Invitational.

In men’s golf, Georgia got its first tournament win of the season at the Jim Rivers Invitational as Davis Thompson took medalist honors for the second time in his career.

On Squire Creek Country Club’s par-72, 7,070-yard layout, the Bulldogs fired a final-round 6-under 282 for a total of 17-under 847. Georgia came in six shots ahead of Texas State and 11 clear of host Louisiana Tech.

Georgia returns to action next weekend at the Nike Invitational at Oregon.

It’ll be a big weekend for three men’s tennis players as they’ll compete in the Battle of the Bay Classic. Baptiste Anselmo, Robert Loeb and Blake Croyder will be among players from 14 schools competing.

It’s another SEC Freshman of the Week honor for Nicholas Yanek. He was the team’s top finisher for the second consecutive competition at the 8k Commodore Classic. He finished in 24:56.4 and was the third overall freshman to finish and first from the SEC. Yanek’s finish helped give the Bulldogs ninth overall out of 15 teams.
