As you’ve no doubt heard by now there are no matchups between top twenty-five teams this weekend in college football. Some think that amounts to a bunch of boring football. You however, a connoisseur and student of history, know that this is precisely the set up for a perfect storm of bat crap craziness. Though it won’t be us, somebody is going to lose a game they have no business losing.

Oh, wait. That already happened.

As of this writing South Carolina is giving Alabama all they want on CBS, Central Florida is working over Stanford on ESPN, and your undefeated Southern Cal Trojans are tied with Tennessee State co-champions Brigham Young.

Shortly we will move onto the evening slate, where:

  • Florida will travel to Lexington looking to avenge last season’s loss to the Wildcats (7:00 ESPN)
  • Auburn and freshman QB Bone X (TM) will look to avoid upset against Nick Saban’s alma mater Kent State (7:00 ESPN2)
  • Florida State will travel to . . .wait this can’t be right (rechecks polls . . .yup . . . son of a gun . . .) top 25 Virginia (7:30, ACC Network), and
  • #1 Clemson will look to escape the Carrier Dome with a win over Syracuse (7:30, ABC).

As always you can find the full schedule of games right here. Everybody have a great evening, and if you see Geoff Collins drowning his sorrows in chocolate milk at the Waffle House, buy the guy a round. Until later . .

Go ‘Dawgs!!!
