That ‘Dawg Will Bite You: #3 Matt Landers

NCAA Football: Georgia Spring Game Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

We’re getting down to the final few in our list of the players whose profiles we project to rise considerably for the Georgia Bulldogs in 2019. We continue the list with another of the wide receivers looking to make inroads in a wide open depth chart.

Matt Landers looks the part of an SEC wide receiver. At 6’5, 200 pounds he’s got the size offensive coaches covet and cornerbacks dread. As we saw during this spring’s G Day game he’s also got enviable downfield speed.

What Landers does not have us a catch in the four games worth of action he saw in 2018. That will change in 2019. It looks likely that Landers will start at one of the outside receiver spots (opposite Tyler Simmons) when the ‘Dawgs take on Vandy.

Along with Tommy Bush and graduate transfer Lawrence Cager, Landers gives new offensive coordinator James Coley a trio of 6’4-plus targets to work downfield and take over in goal line situations. I’m betting on Landers to make an equally outsized impact. Until later...

Go ‘Dawgs!!!
