Georgia’s ever-expanding 2020 recruiting class got bigger and better at lunchtime today with the addition of Ft. Lauderdale (St. Thomas Aquinas) receiver Marcus Rosemy. Rosemy chose the ‘Dawgs over fellow finalist (again, stop me if you’ve heard this one...) Florida.

While Rosemy’s commitment was not unexpected (247Sports crystal ball predictions were running about 80% in favor of the good guys) it’s no less welcome. The 6’3, 187 pound rising senior has been clocked below 4.6 in the forty and has a 35 inch plus vertical. He’s the type of big, fast downfield receiver Coaches Smart and Hankton have been adding in the past couple of recruiting cycles in order to stretch the field and create matchup problems. The Bulldogs more and more are looking to pound the ball on the ground then opportunistically take shots downfield with more 6’4+ sprinters than you can cover. This pickup follows that pattern.
Rosemy doesn’t hurt the Red and Black’s recruiting rankings either. He’s a national top 50 player (#39 per 247), the #6 receiver, and #4 player in the state of Florida. Georgia now has commitments from 3 of 247Sports’ top 12 players in the Sunshine State. Florida has 2, and one of them is still slated to make an unofficial visit to Athens later this summer. Isn’t that funny?
As is often the case in matters of recruiting, it is once again a great day to be a Georgia Bulldog. It’s also worth noting that Louisiana four star receiver Corey Wren, one of the fastest players in the country for 2020 and another UGA target, is set to announce his commitment tomorrow from among Georgia, Houston, and Arizona State. So stay tuned, and....
Go ‘‘Dawgs!!!
