Georgia vs. Mercer Regional Baseball TV Time/How To Watch/Open Thread

Kristin Bradshaw/ UGA Sports Communications

Scott Stricklin’s no. 1 seeded Georgia Bulldogs are getting ready to host Craig Gibson’s no. 4 seeded Mercer Bears at beautiful Foley Field at 7:00 pm.

Live television coverage will be available on the SEC Network.

Lugnut Dawg already provided you a great preview of what to expect from this one.

And this will be the Open Thread for the evening’s action. A few additional notes:

• Mercer comes into this one winners of five straight games and champions of the Southern Conference.

• The Bears also swept the two game season series with Georgia when the teams lost met in 2017, but this is a vastly different Bulldog squad from the one the Bears faced then.

• Both teams rely heavily on a deep rotation of solid pitching. Mercer will start former Houston County Tanner Hall against former Houston County Bear Tony Locey. No word on if former Houston County Bear Jake Fromm will be in the stands, but if he is expect the SEC Network cameras to find him.

• The Bears have played well in pressure situations this season, and Coach Gibson hasn’t shied from scheduling big time opponents for the visitors from Macon (Mercer played season series this year against Georgia Tech and fellow Athens Regional competitor FSU).

Until later...

Go ‘Dawgs!!!
